Art workshop just now. Grouped with boys. That's the only disadvantage(or maybe advantage?) of being the last girl in class. If I'm not wrong, in the previous post, I have touched a little part of taking revenge. Just now, during the workshop I saw how taking revenge looked like - not that brutal, but just enough to make it look real. My idea of taking revenge is not as horrible as that.. Oh what the hell am I saying? zzz

I suddenly got interested in eclipse, so I checked out a few eclipse videos in this year and also previous years, and I found that eclipse are scary. Over a timelapse, the moon(or whatever it is) will sort of disappear.. Imagine that happening when you were looking at the moon, oh the bright full moon, and suddenly it slowly disappears. I might turn crazy zzz.. Why and how does it happen anyway?

Solar eclipses are an accident of nature. They are so spectacular because the Moon and the Sun appear almost the same size. In reality the Sun is much further away then the Moon, but much larger.

The Moon orbits the Earth once a month, and eclipses happen if it lines up exactly with the Earth and the Sun. Solar eclipses occur at New Moon, when the Moon is between Earth and the Sun. Lunar eclipses occur at Full Moon, when Earth is between the Sun and the Moon. Eclipses do not take place every month because the orbits of the Moon and Earth are tilted at an angle. Most of the time, the line- up is not precise enough for an eclipse. However, there are more eclipses than people are generally aware of:

-There are at least two eclipses of the Sun each year, though most are partial.
-There are at least two eclipses of the Moon each year, though a proportion of these are only penumbral, when the Moon is not seen to darken by very much.
-There can be as many as seven eclipses (solar plus lunar) in any one year. In 1935 there were five solar eclipses - four partial and one annular.

On average, there is a total solar eclipse visible somewhere about every 18 months. However, from any one location on Earth, total eclipses take place on average only once in several hundred years.

Cheemology, but understandable. It's about solar eclipse, but lunar eclipse should be similar to solar eclipse, right? zzz

Okay!

When will the next solar eclipse happen?

The next partial solar eclipse will occur on July 21, 2009. It can be viewed from Hawaii around sunset.

The next annular solar eclipse will occur on May 20, 2012. It can be viewed from Hawaii, Alaska, the western US and western Canada around sunset. (An annular solar eclipse is when the moon moves completely in front of the sun but does not cover the sun. It occurs when the moon is farther away in its orbit than usual.)

The next total solar eclipse will occur on August 21, 2017. It can be viewed across the US, Canada, Hawaii and Alaska.

So people, let's all go on a trip to Hawaii and other countries stated above on those years stated above! Wonder when is it going to happen in Singapore..

I finally remembered why I got interested in eclipse. There's an advertisement at MRT stations saying 'When was the last time an eclipse happened in Singapore?' Well, something like that.

The answer is in this webbie: http://www.science.edu.sg/ssc/detailed.jsp?artid=1968&type=6&root=6&parent=6&cat=73

At least, that's what Singapore Science Centre stated. zzz

Cheemology, but still understandable. And please people, I'm not planning to be a scientist, ok? I'm planning to be a slacker, a well-known one. zzz.

Talk about slacking. I want to slack by not going to friendly match against Xinmin Secondary tomorrow. I don't plan to be there, but I have to.. For the sake of my money.. My $2.90 which Syazana borowed from me.. I don't care much that her birthday's on Sunday, as you know people, I'M TURNING EVIL. In fact, I'm already evil. zzz. Come money, come!

Wahhs, cheem post. Sorry I have to bore you.
