books (and other stuff).

Well, hurrows. I said that to F before Econs paper today and he thought I said "Hi Rose". Hahaha I suppose it suits him xD.

Okay, I guess I'll give a mini update of what's going on right now. (background song: Coldplay's 'Fix You') So, last A Level paper yo! In one week's time. Got rejected from the internship (kiss me hard before you go, summertime sadness haha). It's like... you know, last year, when I applied for what I said 'something which I felt I was finally doing something with my life' (I think that's grammatically incorrect) and also got rejected... Guess, yet again, I'm not good enough eh. Even with my lowered hopes, after talking to R today, it feels almost like last year's rejection. I suppose the newspaper comes in handy now.

Okay but that's not what I want to post about. Oh, I'm supposed to tidy my room, but I guess it'll take days to do so. Shall start later hopefully. Anyway... (refer to title of post) Since last week (I think) I told myself to go to the library after Econs paper to borrow a book, and so, today I did. Gosh, I haven't stepped into the library for a few months now. Okay lah, I guess I got inspired by 'The Human Condition' (watch that show! it's inspiring!). After watching that show I so want to receive a book as a present. Okay coming back to the main issue. Ah yes, library. Initially I wanted to borrow a Jeffrey Archer book (thanks XY for recommending me his books in Sec 4!) and then I decided to see if Dan Brown's 'Inferno' is available. And then I just went bleh and decided to walk around. And this was when I realised how important book titles are. It's like, just now I was scanning through the title of the books and I realise that authors need to have a really attention grabbing title. For me, those attractive titles will make me look at the book at least once, to read the summary of the book. So... yup, titles.

And another thing. There's this author who has like, 2 shelves of books and I was wondering, is it that easy to write a book? And is it that easy to get a book published? Like, I'm into mystery and crime solving I suppose and I picked up a book of that genre. And it's like, I realise that most storylines are similar? It got me thinking like, is it that easy to be an author? Like, what differentiates your book from another? Haha. So, eventually I ended up borrowing H. G. Wells' 'The New Machiavelli'. I think it's a Literature text but I guess I'm still in a Literature mood xD Its storyline is somewhat similar to 'The Age of Innocence', like about suppression of desire? So I guess I'll try to get into this book. Yerp. (ignores Chem totally. haha no! I really need Chem P1!!)

Last thing! I was about to leave school just now since I thought it was going to rain, when suddenly I heard a familiar voice shouting my name. It was Z!! Gosh, I was just thinking about her yesterday, about like last year M referring to her as my 'pst pst friend', and then yay! Oh gosh I really miss her hug! Sigh. Then at the end J was like, "Enough of the hugging!" but in the end she joined in haha! Hmm, the promises of uni next year...

Long post is long! Now I can't decide whether to tidy my room (since it's like, quite late at night), search for a job in the newspaper, start reading the book or continue to do Chem MCQ. Hmm sighpie.
